The name, The E-Vessel Movement, combines the spiritual and the environmental, giving the "Vessel" a new purpose.
The 'E' in our name represents the core outcomes of the movement:
ELEVATED: We believe every piece of discarded material can be elevated into valuable art.
EVOLVED: We encourage artists to evolve their creative practice through spiritual surrender.
ETERNAL: Our actions are inspired by an eternal story and result in eternal impact (through charity).
ENVIRONMENTAL: We are committed to a responsible and sustainable approach to creation.
Every artist, donor, and collector is part of the E-Vessel transformation.
The E-Vessel Movement is a global, grassroots art challenge inspired by the ancient story of multiplication: a single, surrendered vessel transformed by faith and intention into abundance.
Elevating Art & Sustainability: To transform discarded materials (the vessels) into valuable art, promoting environmental responsibility and radical resourcefulness.
Uniting for Generosity: To bring together artists of all backgrounds, beliefs, and nations through the universal languages of creation and charity. We unite not by doctrine, but by the common commitment to Gather, Create, and Give.
Every finished E-Vessel piece proves that a surrendered heart and a commitment to giving back can turn waste into worth that multiplies goodness around the globe.
The Foundation (Christian-Inspired): This movement is deeply inspired by the biblical act of faith found in 2 Kings 4: The Widow’s Oil...Â
The wife of one of the prophets cried out to Elisha, "Your servant, my husband, is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord. But the creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves."
Elisha said to her, "What can I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?"
She said, "Your servant has nothing in the house except a jar of oil."
Then he said, "Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. And when you come in, you shall shut the door upon yourself and your sons, and pour it out into all those vessels; and you shall set aside what is full."
So she went from him and shut the door upon herself and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, "Bring me another vessel." And he said to her, "There is not another vessel." So the oil ceased.
Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, "Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest."
This beautiful story serves as the visual and spiritual blueprint for The E-Vessel Movement:
The Crisis & The Need: The widow faced scarcity and debt. In our modern context, the crisis is the environmental burden and the spiritual poverty that comes from feeling stuck and uninspired.
The Borrowed Vessels (Gather): The widow didn't use her own jars; she was instructed to gather empty vessels from her community.
Our Interpretation: We gather discarded materials—old canvases, scrap wood, unwanted supplies—that would otherwise be seen as worthless or trash. We see these as the "empty vessels" waiting to be filled with purpose.
The Pouring (Create): The woman poured out her single jar of oil in faith until the flow stopped.
Our Interpretation: The artist pours out their creative gift (the "oil") through intuitive flow, co-creating with God/The Divine. This act requires surrender, trusting that what emerges will be multiplied.
The Multiplication (Give & Live): The oil miraculously filled every jar and was sold to pay the debt and provide for the family.
Our Interpretation: The sale of the completed artwork multiplies the blessing. It provides for the artist's living expenses, and the mandated 10% minimum donation blesses the artist's chosen place of worship or charity.
The E-Vessel Movement is a modern, tangible way to participate in this parable, proving that faith, resourcefulness, and a surrendered heart can transform waste into value that blesses the world.
